Doc’n Roll Films is proud to announce the UK and Ireland theatrical release of S/HE IS STILL HER/E - THE OFFICIAL GENESIS P-ORRIDGE DOC, a raw and revelatory feature documentary exploring the final year of the legendary, musician, artist, writer, spiritual explorer, cultural engineer and gender revolutionary Genesis P-Orridge. The film opens nationwide on 20 June 2025, with special event preview screenings from 12 June featuring Q&As with Genesse (Genesis’s daughter) in attendance, plus additional special guests TBA.
Directed by David Charles Rodrigues (Gay Chorus Deep South), this authorised and intimate portrait goes beyond iconography, offering unprecedented access into the life, legacy, and philosophy of one of the most transgressive and influential figures in avant-garde music and performance art. Drawing from unseen archives, the film features appearances by William Burroughs, Timothy Leary, Brion Gysin, David J (Bauhaus/Love and Rockets), African witch doctors, and even a surreal cameo from Queen Elizabeth herself.
Blending performance footage, spiritual encounters, and deeply personal reflections, S/HE IS STILL HER/E is a final transmission from an artist who lived without limits.
This release is backed by the BFI, awarding National Lottery funding supporting this documentary to reach diverse LGBTQIA+ communities, particularly those within the transgender, non-binary, and gender-expansive groups, with a regional campaign building audiences over a number of months.
