Dr. Timothy Potts, Maria Hummer-Tuttle and Robert Tuttle Director of the J. Paul Getty Museum, welcomed Dr. Nicholas Cullinan OBE, Director of the British Museum, for a conversation on global partnerships in art, culture and heritage, and the opportunities they bring to museums and the communities they serve. Considering two institutions with distinct histories—a public museum founded in 1753 and a private institution established two centuries later—their discussion reflected on shared challenges and how today’s museums reckon with the past and are evolving into vibrant places for debate, dialogue, and cultural exchange.
