All Quiet on the Western Front

Film director Edward Berger & Actor Felix Kammerer INTERVIEW

One hundred years ago, Erich Maria Remarque wrote All Quiet on the Western Front.  This classic German novel has been adapted for the screen by award-winning film director Edward Berger. The lead character of Paul Bäumer is brought to life by actor Felix Kammerer. It could not be a more timely film.

In this interview Berger and Kammerer offer personal insight into the arduous process of making this authentic adaptation. It is the first time the film has been made in German language,  A potent anti-war epic, All Quiet on the Western Front is Germany's official submission as best international feature for the Oscars.

Best known for Emmy winner Deutschland 83 and Bafta winner Patrick Melrose, this is a compelling work from the director Edward Berger. Stage actor Felix Kammerer makes a remarkable debut that signals a promising career on camera.
