The Invisible Men arrive in San Francisco

They made their long journey by boat and truck arriving with their maker, artist and Laboratory contributor Zak Ové. It is a fleeting visit, staying until November but a powerful one. Their presence resonates deeply with our times Ové invites a much needed conversation about race, immigration and identity. Peaceful, their hands raised up, provide a hint of their provocation and their quiet dignity. Silent and powerful, the gathered sculptures number forty. Artist Zak Ové’s temporary public art installation Invisible Man and the Masque of Blackness, fills the Civic Center Plaza in San Francisco.
