The Laboratory was founded in 1993 by Nigel Daly O.B.E and writer, filmmaker Louise Salter. The company began as an avant garde theater troupe and over the years grew into the multi layered ensemble it is today.
The Laboratory searches the world for the diverse and the exceptional and through collaborations we aim to bring original experiences to curious minds. We publish magazines, make films and stage events. Every edition explores a different theme. The Laboratory celebrates the work of established and emerging artists from around the globe as well as cultural czars, designers, filmmakers, creators, free thinkers, rebellious spirits and pioneers in culture. In so doing we hope to make the world a better place and keep the flame of curiosity burning.

The Laboratory Arts Collective has created an education program to light the fire of curiosity in the next generation. Students are invited to visit Los Angeles and a tailor made program is created for their individual interests. A single day meeting creative minds working in a variety of industries, secret destinations culminates in an experience that these lucky few will never forget and perhaps move their lives in a new direction.
“The Creative Industries Week was able to enjoy a wonderful day organized and executed by Laboratory Arts Collective co-founders Louise Salter and Nigel Daly. The students were able to have insight from various key figures in the creative fields and learn from their different backgrounds. This did not only awe them but also further inspired them to pursue a career in the creative industries. It was a great pleasure and we wish them all the best from Stockholm.”
